About this blog
A place to breathe, reflect, and keep going
Standing Above the Crowd was born from the belief that no one should have to fight their hardest battles alone.
Where this started
I started writing because I needed somewhere to put the things I couldn't say out loud. The 3 AM thoughts. The days when getting dressed felt like a victory. The slow, unglamorous work of learning to live with anxiety and depression rather than against them.
What I didn't expect was how many people felt the same way. The messages started coming in — 'I thought I was the only one.' 'This is exactly what I needed today.' 'How did you know?'
That's when I understood: this wasn't just my story. It was ours. And it deserved a home.
What we believe
You are not alone
Mental health struggles are more common than we admit. This space exists to make that visible.
Small steps matter
Progress doesn't have to be dramatic to be real. We celebrate every step forward, no matter how small.
Words have power
The right words at the right moment can change everything. We choose ours carefully.
Honesty over perfection
We don't pretend recovery is linear or that good days are guaranteed. We tell the truth.
